My View from the SPARK Forum: Technology Delivers Value

  • November 18, 2015

Michael ZimmerOn November 8- 10, Fluent sponsored and participated in the annual SPARK Forum in Palm Beach, Florida. I have always found the Annual Forum to be a great conference to take the pulse of the industry and dialogue with retirement services leaders across the country about the challenges and opportunities facing Americans workers and our industry as a whole.

Our community faces many challenges, but I am continually impressed with the capacity of our industry to transform itself through it’s ability to listen, look inward and evolve. As our national policy continues to shift to consumer owned and directed retirement with the defined contribution plan as the central vehicle, the spot light on our industry has never been brighter. Now more than ever, this increased scrutiny has pushed retirement providers to advance their technology capability in an effort to meet growing market demand and remain compliant with ever increasing requirements.

While the industry has made great strides in the technology arena , it still has a long way to go. I see my clients and prospects embarking on major data consolidation initiatives in order to improve plan analysis, performance reporting and good practices. I also see technology employed to create new services and features that serve market demand and give every stakeholder better access and transparency to the criticial information about their plan and status.

Why Fluent?

Fluent believes that as Retirement Plan Providers, Advisors and DCIO sales teams, your client facing data is your most valuable asset. You need to use this data to prove your value in ever evolving and new ways. The time is ripe for technology enabled evaluation and presentation solutions and Fluent is here to help.

Our FundUtopia platform optimizes the aggregation of client and third party data to produce plan analytics, benchmarking and reporting solutions which prove retirement readiness, plan health and product saliency. In 2014 we launched our newest platform UtopiaAdvisor a mobile application for relationship managers and sales teams that energizes the client meeting experience. UtopiaAdvisor’s suite of evaluation tools enable plan advisors, managers and DCIO representatives to review and compare plan and product attributes, be smarter about their clients business and ultimately be seen as the trusted advisor . The result? Fluent is improving the topline revenue of those we help.

Please stay tuned to our blog postings as we continue to share viewpoints that are intended to encourage creativity and change in how our community conducts their business.
